The new Green Entrepreneurs’ Programme helps young business owners grow their sustainable ideas.

The first iteration took place this year and awarded three of the participants £5,000 each. These were Essex Chestnut Cooperative, BEE Homes and Acuro Group.

Each business had a different green idea. For example, home insulation and sustainable timber production.

Participants received support and training on business skills across six weeks. Afterwards, they were able to pitch for seed funding.

The three winners joined a wrap-up event in Chelmsford on Thursday 26 October. There, we announced the programme will return next year.

The 2024 programme will be open to people of all ages with a green business under a year old.
