Fares and travel options to the new Beaulieu Park Station have been revealed.

You can now start planning your train journeys ahead of the expected opening on 26 October 2025.

There are several ways to reach the train station. These include:

  • Bus connections – the C11, C9, C8 and 73 operated by First will be extended to stop at Beaulieu Park Station
  • Two car parks with 752 spaces. Includes 38 free bays for Blue Badge holders and 10 electric vehicle charging points. Tariffs and opening times available online at Chelmsford City Council and Greater Anglia.
  • Walking and cycling – improvements to local routes with some new paths created. Option between free covered bike storage and paid secure storage at the station
  • Disabled access – step-free access, two lifts to all platforms and braille throughout station

You can drive to Beaulieu Park Station via the new A131 Beaulieu Parkway relief road. This connects to Essex Regiment Way in the west and the Boreham Interchange to the east.

Beaulieu Park Station is the first new station on the Eastern Mainline for over 100 years. It will be operated by Greater Anglia with travel to London Liverpool Street in 40 minutes.

The station features:

  • three platforms
  • a new track for passing trains
  • ticket vending machines
  • a gate line
  • a taxi rank
  • drop-off areas
  • accessible toilets
  • baby change facilities
  • space for retail/catering

Essex County Council in partnership with Chelmsford City Council secured funding for Beaulieu Park Station in 2022. Construction then began in March 2023.

The station was originally expected to open in 2026. Progress made in construction by Network Rail and its contractor Murphy means it is now expected to open on 26 October 2025.

Beaulieu Park Station will transform travel in the north of Chelmsford. It will ease pressure on the city’s existing train station and reduce car journeys into the city centre.

The station is a significant addition to the Beaulieu and Channels neighbourhoods. This will form the first phase of the new Chelmsford Garden Community.
