It's time to shine a spotlight on their incredible dedication and encourage them to prioritise their own wellbeing too.
Throughout June, we are hosting fun events and workshops, designed to bring our community together and support our foster carers. The month is packed with activities to uplift and inspire and help foster carers build healthy habits too.
Carers will take part in exciting events including:
- dancercise
- afternoon tea
- hair braiding and beading
- tai-chi taster sessions
We also provide ongoing resources and support and listen to feedback. Support which is tailored to our carers, and their family's needs.
Laura, a foster carer from Heybridge, shared:
"When we applied to start fostering, there were lots of support groups for us to join. I had a brilliant buddy assigned to me who guided our family through the process.
Plus, I’m now part of a peer support group for foster carers. We all meet once a month and bring all the children that are in our care, they get along really well. The children play with others in similar situations and realise they’re not alone. Plus, the carers get to come together to learn from one another too.”
We are always looking to recruit new foster carers. Every child deserves a safe and secure place to call home. As well as exceptional support, new foster carers will receive a £2000 welcome bonus in 2025. If you think you can off safety and stability to a child, contact the Fostering team now to find out how the process works.
