New Voluntary and Community Sector support available

A group of men and women stand together wearing blue t-shirts with the word volunteer on them.

New support for the local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) - Your Essex Community - is now available.

We have worked with partners to develop this new support. It includes:

  • an e-portal where organisations can find information and advice
  • strategies and tools to empower the VCS to get their communities involved
  • peer support networks to promote collaboration and connection between VCS organisations

The VCS in Essex plays a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our communities. The aim of Your Essex Community therefore, is to create a strong sector for the county.

Councillor Louise McKinlay, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Communities, Economic Growth and Prosperity, said: "Organisations in the Voluntary and Community Sector do amazing work to support people’s health and wellbeing across Essex. To keep making a difference, they need the right support, information and resources.

“That’s why we’re launching ‘Your Essex Community’—a new package of support designed with input from local groups and we are delighted to see it come to life! This support will help VCS organisations grow and continue their vital work in our communities.”

Support is available to VCS organisations of any size and based anywhere in Essex. We will also be adding further support in the future.
