After applying for a Blue Badge

What is the status or progress of my application?

You can find out how to check the status of an online application by visiting ‘Check the progress of your application’.

If you didn’t apply online, we are unable to provide individual updates.

Why does it take so long to process a Blue Badge application?

We will always try and complete an application as quickly as possible however further assessment may be needed, including an independent mobility assessment, and we need to allow sufficient time for the assessment to be completed.

Important: If you do not provide the required supporting evidence with your application, this could cause further delays.

Why have I been asked for an updated PIP/DLA letter?

If we are unable to verify your PIP/DLA award via the DWP database, then we will contact you to request an up-to-date award letter.

We are no longer able to accept award letters dated within 12 months, as all awards are subject to review, and it an older letter may not accurately indicate your current eligibility.

My application has been declined when can I re-apply?

If your application for a Blue Badge is declined, you will need to wait six months before you can re-apply, unless your condition has deteriorated substantially.

Can I appeal if I have been refused a Blue Badge?
