World Mental Health Day is a chance to drive positive change for people around the globe. In Essex, free support is available for residents of all ages and backgrounds.

In Essex and beyond, no one should have to suffer from poor mental health. Talking about it is the first step. The Mental Health Foundation offers excellent resources that anyone can take advantage of.

Live Well also has lots of hints and tips to improve mental wellbeing.

World Mental Health Day 2023 focuses on mental health being a universal human right. It's in this vein that the Essex Youth Service has helped fulfil the needs of over 800 young refugees. Families have been supported to settle into their new communities and avoid isolation.

If you or a family member are between the ages of 13 and 25, the youth service can help you get the most out of school, work and life. This can include youth clubs, volunteering and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Financial pressures are some of the biggest contributors towards poor mental health. This can be especially true during the cost-of-living crisis. For many Essex parents, free one-to-one coaching is available. Many independent experts can also offer free advice to help you stay on top of money management.
