Our Multiply programme has already offered training to 3,000 plus adults aged 19 and over. During its second phase, over 4,000 more opportunities are available. Courses focus on everything from qualifications to helping children with their schoolwork. At least 800 of the latest opportunities are for businesses, helping them upskill their workforce.

Councillor Tony Ball, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said:

Multiply is about empowering adults in Essex with better understanding of maths and an increased confidence in working with numbers in their everyday life. This can give you the right tools to manage your money, help your children at school and get a better job.

The programme has so far proved a huge success, with flexible learning opportunities on offer and a course for everyone, from beginners through to more advanced offers such as GCSE maths.

We’re looking forward to building on this success as we enter phase two of the campaign, expanding to engage with even more businesses, while continuing to support residents of Essex to become more confident with numbers.

The £7.9 million Multiply in Essex programme is funded by the Department for Education (DfE).
