Carers assessment

Request a carers assessment to get support if you regularly look after someone else

If you regularly look after someone else, you are entitled to a carers assessment. This is not a test of your caring abilities. It is for us to assess what support, if any, could help you in your caring role. This support could include:

  • education and training
  • practical help in the home
  • support for your mental and physical wellbeing

Anyone can have a carers assessment. You do not need to be living with the person you look after or providing care full time.

You can also refer someone else for a carers assessment.
