Christmas at Harwich Memory Cafe

A group of young people singing whilst a crown of older residents watch on

Harwich Library Memory Cafe has been celebrating the festive season with St Joseph's Primary School Singing Group. The event included solo performances and duets from pupils. Our youngest members from the 0-5 rhyme time group joined in the fun with parents and carers.

It was a lovely festive session with lots of laughter, sparkle and memories of both Christmas past and present through a festive singalong of Christmas carols.

Singing together can be a wonderful gift shared, especially for people living with dementia to reignite memories.

Memory cafes are beneficial for people living with dementia. They enable people to meet and interact with others, as well as take part in activities that can help reignite memories and encourage cognitive stimulation. They also offer support, further information and advice.
