A topping out ceremony for a new residential development in Harlow has been held. The event marks a key milestone in the construction of the development, called Oakview Walk.

The development is being brought forward by Essex Housing, our development team. It will feature 35 new sustainable two, three and four-bedroom homes. Six of these have been allocated for affordable housing.

All homes will have an EPC A rating. The estate includes air source heat pumps, solar panels and electrical vehicle charging points.

The development will also include a woodland walk as well as the retention of existing oak trees.

Homes will be available to purchase next spring. The development is set to be completed later in 2024.

Councillor Lee Scott, Cabinet Member for Planning a Growing Economy, said:

This site is a perfect example of how Essex Housing is helping to deliver the new homes our county so desperately needs, as well as shaping great places for our residents to live and providing a return to the taxpayer.

I’m delighted that we are now one step closer to delivering this scheme and look forward to seeing it progress.
