The voices of all victims and survivors of domestic abuse should be heard. Share your experience and help improve services for everyone in Essex.

The Experts by Experience Reference Group gives victims and survivors of domestic abuse (including children and young people) a way to influence issues and services that affect them.

Who the group is for

What you will do

By joining the Experts by Experience Reference Group, you will have a say in how support services are designed, checked and continually improved to meet the needs of people in Essex.

During a meeting you might:

  • explore ways to improve emotional wellbeing and psychological support for victims
  • look at how support is being given as part of the county’s domestic abuse strategy and challenge any areas you think can be better
  • get involved in defining the standards expected from the organisations we fund and the contracts for services we provide
  • give feedback on any recommendations made by the Essex Local Domestic Abuse Partnership Board (DALPB) to support the needs of victims of domestic abuse
